Some interesting facts that may be of help

Do you suffer from leg cramps?

Most of the time it's because our body is dehydrated. Whether you get them in the middle of the night, or in the middle of a workout or in an aqua aerobics fitness class / bootcamp?

THERE IS RELIEF!  Take a small packet of salt ( like the ones you get at a drive through. It's equal to about 1/8 tsp. ( for those concerned about blood pressure) put it in the palm of your hand and lick it. Within seconds the cramp goes away. IF it doesn't... try ONE MORE( never exceed more than 2 packets) it works for MOST people. Certainly worth a try, and is easier to carry with you in your wallet, car, next to your bed.

 

You can also try eating a banana ( lots of potassium) if you don't like bananas kiwi has an abundance of potassium as well , that sometimes helps to PREVENT those terrible cramps in the middle of a workout. Do you have bad knees???

 

Here's an interesting FACT...

If your wondering why your knees hurt all the time it may not only be our age, or overuse from when we were younger or even overuse now but it may also have something to do with how much you weigh. Im just statin' the facts. I'm sorry to say but for every 1 pound we are overweight that adds an additional 4 lbs of pressure on the knees. So even if you are lucky enough to struggle with just 10-15 lbs of extra weight. That adds up pretty quickly. 10 pounds adds an a additional 40 pounds of pressure to our poor knees.

 

Here's another fun fact.

I worked out for at least 10 years before I found out that you burn MORE calories if you eat AFTER a class. Your metabolism is at it's peak and will burn fat faster.

 

BUT... You need to be careful, because if your one if those who has to work ALL day and have NO choice but to hit the gym late, then we know by the time you get home it's pushin 9 pm and we all know ( in a PERFECT world ) it's best we DO NOT EAT AFTER 6 pm. 7 pm at the VERY latest. Which just means that on those days if you can't do that, then you need to make even BETTER choices when deciding what LOW CAL foods for dinner your going to have before bed.
