GANANOQUE GROOHL RULES
The following rules are to be observed while playing in the Senior Hockey Program in order to insure team play and full participation for everyone.
-
All players must be 55 and all new players coming on board will be evaluated for their level of ability and compatibility by the executives of the team.
-
Only use the stick to play the puck. Not to impede a player. Keep your stick off an opponent's body. Do not hook a player, let him go as hooking no matter how minor often throws a player off balance and can lead to injury.
-
Do not infringe in the goal crease or cut to the net. Avoid contact with the goalie and actions which might lead to scrums in the goal net area.
-
Icing/off sides ease up. No fore checking inside the blue line on icing and off sides, Defending team gets the puck. Attacking team moves outside the blue line. Once any defending player goes over the blue line play resumes
-
No slap shots; raising sticks above the shin area is considered a slap shot. Snapshots are permissible.
-
Don't slide on ice to block shots.
-
When play has stopped because of goalie stoppage or the puck has caught in the netting drop back over blue line and apply the same rule as icing/offside.
-
Clarification of icing: shot from behind the blue line not the redline.
